When it comes to posting on Instagram, I can say that I can get really conscious about the quality and type of photos that I post since this can reflect the way you deliver a certain work. Having a good Instagram feed makes a good impression to people who visit your account and it is also a nice way of expressing yourself if your that type of person who's somehow "artsy".
In this post I will share my personal tips and ideas on having a better Instagram feed. If you're someone who's having a hard time in achieving your "feed goals" lol... this might help you :)
1. USE A GOOD CAMERA/LENS
Let's start with the basics, your camera. A good camera is obviously needed when you want your photos to look clear and crisp. I personally like using an iPhone camera (4s - 6s) because it feels more handy. But I'm not saying that you don't use any other brand. Whenever you take a photo (mostly on a mobile phone) and it looks foggy/smudged, all you need to do is wipe your camera with a clean cloth until the photo becomes clearer. This can be very useful when taking photos on dark places like concerts and events.
2. PROPER LIGHTING
Have you asked yourself why are there so many lighting equipment inside a photo studio? And what's the purpose of having that much? Because without a light, a camera lens won't capture a thing. In a photo studio, an image can look professional because the lighting is really customizable. And even though you only take photos for social purposes, enough lighting is important. No one wants a grainy photo (unless it was intentionally made)
3. EDITING AND APPS
With the right adjustments and filters, you can attain a really high quality photo even with just your phone. I suggest that when editing a photo you should not over edit a photo because you might just ruin it. These two apps are my essentials whenever I edit
4. SUBJECT OF YOUR PHOTOS
Based on what I observed, this is the thing that many of us tend to forget. People just upload photos on Instagram because it looks nice but they don't notice that it doesn't blend with what type of feed they are aiming for. If you're into fashion and travel kind of feed, you should always observe for an eye catching details of clothes and a beautiful scenery of a certain place. You don't add a picture of a newly bought microwave oven haha. I hope you're getting the idea here.
5. INTERVAL OF PHOTOS
Instagram is not like a Facebook album wherein you upload photos with the same topic, I would personally recommend that you only post the best picture of a certain happening. For example, when you're in a concert you shouldn't post two consecutive photos of the stage. the next photo might be a group photo with your friends or a photo of a frappe you'll be drinking after the concert.
6. ANGLE OF PHOTOS
You should always consider different types of angle depending on the subject of your photo. Well you can always be creative here. When taking a photo of one's outfit, you can try moving away to your subject, and adjust the zoom of your camera. It will give a different depth compared to standing near your subject.
Well that's all I can share with you guys. I wasn't really planning on making a post about these tips, but whatever (haha). I hope this could help you improve your Instagram feed. Share them also to your friends para messy feed no more.
Again, everything that I said was just my personal tips and ideas. I'am not forcing anyone to follow everything. If you have any concerns or questions, you can ask us in the comments section below and we'll try to answer them. Till the next post!
